It is a practice document for use under the supervision of a Gas Safe registered engineer, tutor or assessor. It is not a record of a valid tightness test or purge for the purposes of IGEM/UP/1B Edition 4 or the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 (as amended), and must not be presented as one. Any official tightness test and purge of a domestic installation must be carried out, recorded, and certified by a Gas Safe registered operative who is competent for the category of work, who has followed the procedure set out in IGEM/UP/1B Edition 4, and who takes full responsibility for the readings and calculations recorded. The supervising engineer's signature on this record confirms only that the learner's practical exercise was observed and assessed; it is not a certification of the installation as gas-tight or correctly purged. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the author accepts no liability for any error, omission, or any direct or indirect loss or damage arising from use of this tool or reliance on its output.
